Off The Track Alliance

Australia’s first national nonprofit dedicated to the lifelong welfare of Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses.

Off-the-Track Alliance (OTTA) supports Australia's off-the-track horse community by connecting people, sharing knowledge, and strengthening lifelong support for Thoroughbred and Standardbred horses.

OTTA's strategy integrates national advocacy with regional engagement, strengthening established networks while fostering a connected and supportive online community.

Across Australia, many Thoroughbred and Standardbred horses transition from racing into new careers and homes. For the people who care for them, the journey is rarely straightforward.

Owners and carers often face fragmented information, disconnected support networks, and limited opportunities to connect with others. While valuable aftercare initiatives already exist, there is no national organisation bringing together Australia's off-the-track community across both Thoroughbred and Standardbred codes.

OTTA strengthens established networks, connects communities, and advocates for a nationally coordinated approach that supports the lifelong wellbeing of off-the-track horses through the people who care for them.

Our Strategic Priorities

Community

We bring people together to support horses beyond racing, recognising the vital role owners, carers and the wider community play throughout their lives.

Collaboration

We connect people, organisations and sectors across Australia to share knowledge, strengthen support and work towards better outcomes for horses.

Learning & Improvement

We listen, learn and use evidence and community insights to continually improve how we support horses and the people who care for them.
